Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Where is Boom Babies located, and how do I get there?

A:  We are located at 489 Westcott St in Syracuse. Please see the directions section on our webpage to get from your door to ours.

Q: What are your hours of operation?

A: We are open seven days a week. Monday – Friday 11am-8pm, Saturday 10am-7pm and Sunday 12pm-5pm. For your best service, please allow yourself time to select, try on and accessorize. Arriving less than 30 minutes before we close you may not be allowed into a dressing room

Q: What is the best time to come, and how long is the wait for a fitting room?

A: Preferably come during the week (Monday-Friday). Earlier in the day, before school lets out is less busy. There will be no wait to about a 10-15 minute wait and you will be provided with the utmost service and attention and all the dress will be available for try on, not tied up in other fitting rooms. Weekends are very busy, and you may wait up to 30 minutes to 2 hours before getting into a dressing room. However, no matter when you come, we will provide you with the best service possible.

Q: Do you have a public restroom or a waiting area?

A: Unfortunately, we do not. So, please take this into consideration before stopping into Boom Babies, especially if you are traveling from a distance, make a pit stop beforehand. We also do not have a lounge or waiting area. We have 1000s of dresses in the store so it is not suitable or fun for little children and boyfriends. We greatly appreciate you keeping your group size to a minimum.

Q: How can I pay? Can I use my mother’s credit card?

A: We accept cash, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and personal checks.
Personal checks must be over check # 400, and are taken with a valid driver’s license and one of the accepted credit cards – subject to approval by owner. According to New York State law, you cannot use a credit card that is not your own, and we cannot accept a card from anyone other than the cardholder. Also, please do not send your daughter with a blank check. There are 2 ATMs available on our block, for your convenience. .

Q: Can I put dresses on hold?

A: No. Unfortunately if we held dresses for everyone, the size that you need would be on hold in the back room for someone else.

Q: Can I put a dress on Layaway?

A: Our layaway policy is 30% down and you have 2 weeks to pay it off. Layaway is a contract, not a holding policy. When a dress is on layaway, it is yours. The deposit is nonrefundable and cannot be transferred to a different dress. You should not put a dress on layaway until both you and your mother approve.
